It’s simple…

Oral health is the key to whole body health throughout the lifespan…“Mention the Mouth” will amplify the voice of the oral health transformation movement. Because a healthy mouth is the gateway to living a full life, building a strong community and creating an equitable world.

Together we promise to always mention the mouth - in board meetings, in advocacy meetings, at doctor's appointments, at grass roots events... because the first step toward oral health integration is to make sure oral health is a part of the conversation.

Do you vow to always Mention the Mouth? #MentiontheMouth #OregonOHC

Coalition Highlight: Columbia Gorge OHC

Under the leadership of David Crawford (Kidz Dental Zone) and Dr. Elizabeth Aughney (One Community Health), the Columbia Gorge Oral Health Coalition is continuously working to provide dental services to all residents, regardless of age, insurance coverage or immigration status.

CGOHC is one of the only regions that consistently meets the state’s sealant/foster child exam metrics, and they are working to ensure they continue their success with those metrics.

Last month, CGOHC met with people from the Arcora Foundation (formerly Washington Dental Service Foundation), a “nonprofit dedicated to partnering with communities and boldly transforming systems to improve oral health.” Founded and funded by Delta Dental of Washington, the Arcora Foundation is looking to bring The Mighty Mouth, their current outreach and messaging campaign, to Oregon. They are in conversation in CGOHC, investigating if the coalition and the foundation should partner in Oregon State’s first Mighty Mouth efforts.

AND...coming soon the The Dalles...the Monsters in the Park After Dark event, a safe Halloween event sponsored by A Kidz Dental Zone and Northern Wasco County Parks and Rec, where kids will perform a "floss dance," and have a good, safe time while celebrating Halloween!
