ARTICLE I

ARTICLE 1:  NAME AND PURPOSE

The name of this entity shall be Oregon Oral Health Coalition, hereafter known as OrOHC.

This corporation shall be organized and operated exclusively for charitable, scientific, literary, and educational purposes.  Subject to the limitations stated in the Articles of Incorporation, the purpose of this corporation shall be to engage in any lawful activities, none of which are for profit, for which corporations may be organized under Chapter 65 of the Oregon Revised Statutes (or its corresponding future provisions) and Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code (or its corresponding future provisions).

This corporation’s primary purpose shall be to improve general health through oral health for all Oregonians.  OrOHC shall provide leadership to 1) formulate and advocate public policy; 2) integrate oral health with general health in prevention, promotion and care delivery; 3) shepherd the statewide oral health planning process; 4) convene oral health events; 5) communicate oral health information; and 6) support local coalitions.

The mission of OrOHC is to be a central source for advocacy, information and communication about oral health issues in Oregon, and to organize stakeholders’ individual strengths into a collective power for oral health.
